Human Wig Care Instructions

Congratulations on your purchase of a 100% Human Hair wig! Human hair can react adversely to chemicals such as dyes, perms and treatments just like your own hair, so we advise against any chemicals applied to human hair wigs or extensions.

*For sanitation reasons, it is unlawful to return or exchange any wigs, clip-ins, or hairpieces. Due to the nature of our products, we will not return or exchange any open, worn, or otherwise used merchandise, but since natural hair is reactive to a simple wash and deep conditioning product, issues or concerns can often easily be remedied by implementing a simple care regimen. Please, do not hesitate to call or visit us with any questions or concerns you may have.

General Care

  • Brush the hair daily (unless it’s curly!) and always start at the bottom and work your way to the top in a consistent, downward motion.
  • Store your wig on a wig stand, or in its box, in a cool, dry place away from dust or extreme temperatures.
  • Products intended for human hair (shampoos, conditioners, styling products, etc.) are safe to use, just remember to beware of product buildup or any product with high alcohol content.
  • Make a couple of big braids or wrap the hair when going to sleep, swim, or exercise. *NEVER SLEEP ON WET OR LOOSE HAIR. Make sure the hair is completely dry before going to bed.
  • Curly hair textures are best styled with your fingers or a wide tooth comb/pick. To “reset” the curl pattern, a wash & the help of a curl boosting product like mousse will revive the curls.

Washing/Conditioning

  • Gently detangle the hair using a wig brush or a wide tooth comb. (You can spray leave-in conditioner as you de-tangle the hair)
  • We recommend washing your wig once a month or every 8-10 wears.
  • Fill your sink with lukewarm water, add four-five drops of shampoo into the sink and mix it in with the water. Then gently submerge the wig into the sink starting from bottom to top. Swoosh it in and out of the water 5-6 times (if you have your wig parted in a specific direction or side, hold on to it and never let it go while washing.) Drain out the dirty water and repeat the same steps but with conditioner this time!
  • Finger comb wet hair from the bottom to top using gentle downward strokes one section at a time. Never begin combing at the top or middle and always comb down.
  • Gently pat dry with a towel. For best results, allow the wig to air dry on a wig stand. This will preserve the shape of your wig.
  • If you desire to heat style your human hair wig after it’s dry, it is best to apply a heat protectant spray, serum, mousse or cream beforehand.
