Synthetic Wig Care Instructions

Congratulations on your purchase of a synthetic wig! While your wig may look and feel just like human hair, it is important to use products and techniques intended for synthetic hair only. Remember most synthetic wigs are sensitive to direct heat and should never come in contact with hot styling tools. Nowadays it is common to see premium synthetic wigs that can withstand high temperatures for styling. We advise to always test the wig first in an inconspicuous area such as underneath in the back before applying any heat to the wig.

*For sanitation reasons, it is unlawful to return or exchange any wigs, clip-ins, or hairpieces. Due to the nature of our products, we will not return or exchange any open, worn, or otherwise used merchandise.

General Care

  • Store your wig on a wig stand, or in its box, in a cool, dry place away from dust or extreme temperatures.
  • Do NOT use Human hair products on Synthetic wigs. Synthetic wigs have a SPECIFIC Shampoo (cleaner) and Silicone conditioner which can be purchased only at wig stores.
  • Brush your wig often (unless it’s curly!) and always start at the bottom and work your way to the top in a consistent, downward motion.
  • Make a couple of big braids or wrap the hair when going to sleep, swim, or exercise. *NEVER SLEEP ON WET OR LOOSE HAIR. Make sure the hair is completely dry before going to bed.
  • Curly hair textures are best styled with your fingers or a wide tooth comb/pick. To “reset” the curl pattern, usually a wash and the help of a detangling oil or conditioner will revive the curls.

Washing/Conditioning

  • Gently detangle the hair using a wig brush or a wide tooth comb. (You can spray your silicone leave-in conditioner as you de-tangle the hair)
  • We recommend washing your wig once a month or every 8-10 wears.
  • Fill your sink with lukewarm water, add four-five drops of the cleaner into the sink and mix it in with the water. Then gently submerge the wig into the sink starting from bottom to top. Swoosh it in and out of the water 5-6 times (if you have your wig parted in a specific direction or side, hold on to it and never let it go while washing.) Drain out the dirty water.
  • Finger comb wet hair from the bottom to top using gentle downward strokes one section at a time. Never begin combing at the top or middle and always comb down.
  • Gently pat dry with a towel. Now you can spray your leave-in silicone conditioner throughout the wig. For best results, allow the wig to air dry on a wig stand. This will preserve the shape of your wig.

Human Wig Care Instructions

Congratulations on your purchase of a 100% Human Hair wig! Human hair can react adversely to chemicals such as dyes, perms and treatments just like your own hair, so we advise against any chemicals applied to human hair wigs or extensions.

*For sanitation reasons, it is unlawful to return or exchange any wigs, clip-ins, or hairpieces. Due to the nature of our products, we will not return or exchange any open, worn, or otherwise used merchandise, but since natural hair is reactive to a simple wash and deep conditioning product, issues or concerns can often easily be remedied by implementing a simple care regimen. Please, do not hesitate to call or visit us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Care Guide for Human Hair Extensions

Congratulations on your purchase of 100% human hair extensions! The following tips will help you keep your extensions looking and feeling the best. Hair extensions do not produce nutrients and oils the way our natural hair receives from our scalp, so you must treat them with the utmost care and ensure that they stay moisturized.

It is advisable not to color, perm, or apply any chemical treatments. Please be extra careful with blonde and other light colored hair; they are more chemically processed than dark hair and we are not responsible for the outcome.

*For sanitation reasons it is prohibited to return or exchange any wigs, clip-ins, or hairpieces. Due to the nature of our products we will not return or exchange any open, worn, or otherwise used merchandise. However, since natural hair is reactive to a simple wash and deep conditioning product, issues or concerns can often easily be remedied by implementing a simple care regimen. Please do not hesitate to call or visit us with any questions or concerns you may have.

  1. Make sure you *brush the hair daily and apply leave-in conditioner or a light oil as necessary so that the hair is soft and moisturized. A good leave-in hair treatment can keep the hair from drying out, but remember not to use too much otherwise it will create buildup and make the hair feel dirty and too heavy.
  2.  With regular usage we suggest that you wash the hair at least once a week with lukewarm water (Clip-In extensions may be washed less frequently, depending on usage). Before washing the hair, make sure to detangle it entirely from the bottom to the top.
  3.  Gradually wet the hair and *wash it with a professional grade moisturizing shampoo and conditioner; we recommend Joico K-Pak or Moisture Recovery shampoo and conditioner. Be sure to wash the hair in one direction without wringing or twisting the hair. Rinse the hair completely with water and towel dry. It is best to air dry.
  4. *NEVER SLEEP ON WET OR LOOSE HAIR. Make sure the hair is completely dry before going to bed and make a couple of big braids or wrap the hair when going to sleep, swim, or exercise.

-When swimming always wear a cap to prevent prolonged exposure to chlorine or salt water which causes the hair to tangle. After swimming, always wash the hair right away with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. When going to the spa, the hair should be brushed out completely and should be wrapped in a cold, wet towel. Also wash the hair immediately after exercising. Dirt and sweat accumulate and create tangles.

-Keeping products (especially those with a high alcohol content) and heat to a minimum will prolong the life of your extensions.

Strand by Strand Extensions

  • Do not shampoo for the first two days after application.
  • The tips (approximately 1” from the bond & scalp) should not come into contact with any heat (blow dryers, hot rollers, curling & straightening irons), as this will weaken the bond.
  • Always brush with a loop brush. Brush row by row, ends to roots.
-Keratin Tipped bonds should be towel dried to avoid breakage and shedding that blow dryers may cause.
  • Keratin Tipped bonds may be weakened when exposed to constant damp environments such as steam rooms and saunas.

Wefted hair extensions

Some shedding is normal. However, sealing your wefts is recommended as the best way to minimize hair shedding. We recommend a sealant like Fray Check to be applied directly on to the weft before applying the extensions.

Clip-In Hair Extension Quick Tips

It is not necessary to wash your extensions often. Shampoo hair extensions after 4-5 uses, or approximately ones every 2 weeks. If styling products are used, washing may be required more often.

Never wash your clip-in hair extensions while it is attached to your head, use a small tub or a sink to gradually submerge them, instead.

Your hair extensions do not receive oils from your scalp, like your natural hair does. Make sure that you pamper them with a deep conditioning treatment after washing. We suggest It’s a 10! Miracle Oil or Moroccanoil.

Let the clip-in extensions dry naturally by laying them on a clean towel or hanging them. Opt out of using blow dryers as often as possible, to reduce the amount of heat exposure. Do no store them in the bathroom or other high humidity areas.

Never sleep with your extensions clipped on! Sleeping with clip-in extensions on can cause hair loss by pulling your natural hair.

It is important to take very good care no only of your clip-in hair extensions but also of your natural hair and scalp. Hair extensions are clipped on to your natural hair, if your natural hair is weak and brittle, the weight of the extensions can cause breakage.
